Georg Simon Winters von Adlersfl¸«ägel's depiction of a centaur supposedly born at Verona in 1254 (Adlersfl¸«ägel, 1703, fig. 22). In the original account of this alleged human-animal hybrid, the creature was killed by its owner soon after birth.
