The Red Kangaroo (Macropus rufus), pictured below, is the largest of all kangaroos, the largest extant marsupial and the biggest terrestrial mammal native to Australia. It ranges over a vast area corresponding to Australia's more arid regions. Males are typically around six feet (1.9 m) tall, with the largest confirmed individual having a height of 6'11" (2.1 m). He weighed 201 pounds (91 kg). Females are much smaller.
