Cow-human coinage

cow-human hybrid on ancient coin

The coin shown at right, a silver tetradrachm from Gela, Sicily (5th century B.C.), is stamped with the image of a cow-human hybrid.

Such coins were common in ancient times. There are even three websites, all by Nick Molinari and Nicola Sisci, devoted to them: Bronze Coinage of the Man-Faced Bull, Silver Coinage of the Man-Faced Bull, and Gold Coinage of the Man-Faced Bull.
